About This Room
This is where I keep choir memories, vocal notes, voice stuff, small recordings, piano progress, and other music-related pieces of the archive.
Recordings
Bless The Lord, O My Soul
Rachmaninoff / All-Night Vigil
Ending excerpt from Rachmaninoff's All-Night Vigil, Movement 2. The basses descend through a C3 to C2 major scale while the upper part sits high, with me holding around C5.
Nunc Dimittis
Rachmaninoff / All-Night Vigil
Ending excerpt from Rachmaninoff's All-Night Vigil, Movement 5. This is the famous low bass descent, often known as the “Rach Challenge.” The original line descends from Bb2 to Bb1, but I transcribed it down a half step, so this version descends from A2 to A1.
Tebe Poem Snippet
Mokranjac / Tebe Poem
Beginning snippet of Tebe Poem by Mokranjac. My version is in D major, with the bass line starting at A2 and moving through the line down to D2 in an almost chant-like style. The other parts are really nice too, and with the added mixing and effects, the piece has an ethereal sound. My mixing is still rough though :p
